#Repost @dinosoccio with @get_repost ・・・ This is the first time I’ve ever organized a benefit effort. There are so many things going on in Southern California that need attention and assistance, especially right now. Homelessness in Los Angeles County is one of the most visibly growing issues of the past 5-6 years. It’s heartbreaking and often overwhelming trying understand the day to day struggles of each person you see living on the streets let alone considering they are among the 10s of thousands of homeless in this county alone. So this a way of doing something small to raise awareness and give a little. Our community of DJs, producers, and musicians have contributed originals, remixes, and edits for this cause. We’re hoping to make the first donation around the December holidays. All proceeds will be donated to @dwcweb , Downtown Women’s Center. Per the shelter’s site • “The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. We envision a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Our mission is to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, and advocacy”. • Thanks to all the artists involved! You can learn more about our effort and hear all the great tunes on the compilation @pleasureoflovela bandcamp. Links are in profiles. #homelessnessawareness #homelessla #downtownwomenscenter
